About Me

Sandy has a fairly diverse background including 20 years in the business environment in retail management and financial services. She moved into education in 2000 and has taugt in various areas of both business and the social and behavioral sciences. She currently instructs a marriage and family course online at Central Texas College. Sandy also works in the mental health field currently at Retreat Behavioral Center in New Haven CT working in residential substance use disorder detox and rehabilitation. 


For undergraduate work, she holds an AS and BS in business, an AS in drug and alcohol counseling, and a BA in social & behavioral sciences. For graduate work, she holds an MS in political science, a SYC in educational foundations, and an MA in psychology. She also holds a Certificate in Biblical Scripture. Sandy adheres to a multidisciplinary approach to the study of society and human behavior, and holds to the importance of knowing the philosophical roots of today’s thinking. Through formal study in various disciplines as well as diversity in college choices, mixing public secular and faith based schools, she has tried to grasp an understanding of the human condition. Although what she sees is often not nice, her outlook on life and the world is always optimistic and faith filled.


Sandy has special interests in the area of the psychology of spirituality in the individual and paranormal events. She has completed three internships through the years; one at the CT Court State Attorney's Office in New Haven working with domestic violence, another at Saint Francis Home for Children in New Haven working with at-risk adolescents, and her third was at the Michael Perlin Center at The Connection in a pre-trial alcohol and drug education program in Connecticut. She holds a License in Professional Counseling and a specialty License in Alcohol and Drug Counseling, both from the Connecticut Health Department. Sandy is certified as a Consulting Hypnotist by the National Guild of Hypnotists. She will be training through 2024 in the new "Integrative Therapy" which is used for microdosing psychedelics in mental health, with a focus on psilocybin.


Sandy was raised in East Haven CT where she currently resides with her husband and son near the south-central shoreline of CT. She was raised in the Catholic Church and was active for many years in the local Catholic Church and community, and  trained as a catechist, lector, youth minister, and Catholic Religious Emblem Coordinator for the Boy Scouts of America. She was a commissioner on the East Haven Counseling and Community Services Committee from 2012-2020. In recent years she has moved toward Eastern thought, energy psychology, consciousness studies, and the extraterestial presence on Earth.
